The Suzhou MoCA stands as a crowning touch on the right bank of Jinji Lake. With a total floor area of 59,500 square meters, including a total exhibition area of approximately 11,300 square meters, this landmark—the first large-scale public museum in Suzhou dedicated to modern and contemporary art—stands shoulder to shoulder with the “Suzhou Eye” Ferris wheel, together forming the most striking visual identity of the “Right Bank Parlor” (a huge open square by Jinji Lake).

The museum infuses the area with irreplaceable cultural depth, allowing visitors to enjoy not only amazing lake views and cityscape but also a journey to art. It shows the world another side of Suzhou, where, beyond classical gardens and traditional opera, global contemporary arts converge.

This ambition took root long before the museum opened. The museum’s “Space Productivity” series of projects, which were launched before its opening, have brought diverse forms of art into communities, commercial complexes and public spaces. The art season following its opening will feature four major exhibitions alongside nearly 100 events including lectures, seminars, art workshops and co-creation campaigns. Meanwhile, art will extend beyond the museum’s walls. Picasso-themed art buses will run on the streets, while the artistic capsule of the “Suzhou Eye” Ferris wheel will be a new attraction for visitors and immersive Picasso pop-up exhibitions will be held at Suzhou Center and Suzhou Eslite Bookstore.
