Recently, over 100 silver-haired students from the 2026 spring class of the Xietang Sub-district University for the Aged staged 13 performances at Xietang Public Service Center, showcasing outcomes of their learning under the school’s programs, such as those on singing, dancing, fitness exercises and calligraphy. Each performance radiated vitality, proving that age is no barrier to learning.

The university for the aged, which offered 15 courses at four sites this spring, is part of Xietang Sub-district’s education system for lifelong learning. The sub-district aims to weave learning into everyday life, thereby helping local residents create a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle.

Therefore, in addition to the university for the aged, the sub-district also offers evening school programs, learning tours and other learning opportunities to meet the needs of different people. This has greatly boosted local residents’ enthusiasm for learning.
