Songze Community in SIP’s Xietang Sub-district recently launched a cultural livestream channel on Douyin (TikTok), making new progress in fostering an industry chain centered on local workshops to carry forward cultural heritage and help local resident increase income.

The livestream channel serves as a platform to showcase the community’s culture, provide handy services such as fitness coaching, and sell creative cultural products from the local handicraft workshop.

The workshop holds various events frequently for residents to learn skills such as making fabric hairpins and non-woven fabric gadgets for home decoration, thereby enriching the participants’ lives and laying a foundation for possible participation in gig work.

Moreover, the community has established a partnership with the School of Art of Soochow University, transforming outstanding designs from the school into products through the workshop.
