Recently, Greatwall Strategy Consultants (also known as GEI), a Beijing-based consulting firm, released its 2026 research report on Chinese unicorn enterprises, which records 372 unicorn enterprises. Among these unicorns are 19 located in Suzhou, including five in SIP, the most in a single district in the city.
These five enterprises in SIP are Zelos, a company engaged in automatic driving technology; Suzhou Abogen Biosciences (AbogenBio), a company dedicated to messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) drug discovery, development and commercialization; Denglin Technology, an AI chip innovator; Scivita Medical, a leading endoscope supplier; and MEGAROBO, which specializes in automation in life sciences.
SIP has taken multiple measures to support startups to grow into unicorn enterprises and then achieve stronger development. It is now home to about 300 unicorns and unicorns-to-be.
