Recently, the Regional University-Industry Technology Transfer Center for Biopharmaceuticals (Suzhou, Jiangsu) in SIP has provided full-cycle support for the research team led by You Xueqiu at Jimei University in Fujian province to commercialize a technological achievement that marks an advance in cosmetic medicine.
The product uses soluble micron-scale needles to painlessly breach the skin’s stratum corneum and deliver active ingredients precisely to the epidermis or the superficial layer of the dermis. Once dissolved, the needles release the drug slowly for efficient absorption, offering a non-invasive, safe, and convenient experience suited for home care, clinical support, and aesthetic applications.

The project has secured a full-chain patent portfolio covering microneedle preparation, precision delivery, and transdermal administration, ready for entering into market.

The center has provided the project with end-to-end support. It allocated a POC (proof of concept) fund to support supplementary indication trials and feasibility studies, strengthening core data and reducing downstream R&D risks. It also connected the project team with qualified market partners and investors, and assisted in the drafting and review of technology transfer agreement.
