On the evening of July 19, the training ground of Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre was filled with cheers and roars as the “ATHLETA Tribute & Inheritance Match” kicked off as a lead-up to the finals of the sixth “2034 Cup” Primary School Students’ Football Games (U12).

Over 20 legendary football stars who are former national team players and professional league icons, including Li Weifeng, Li Yi, Xu Liang and Mao Jianqing, faced off against a group of young players.

After a hard-fought 1–1 draw in regulation time, the more experienced veterans narrowly clinched victory in a penalty shootout, winning 3–2. The stands were packed with enthusiastic fans and young football aspirants, whose continuous chants and cheers energized the atmosphere.

The finals of the sixth “2034 Cup” Primary School Students’ Football Games (U12) will take place at Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre and Yangchenghu Peninsula Football Park from July 25 to August 1, when 128 teams comprising about 2,600 young players will chase their dreams on the pitch.
