SIP’s Shengpu Sub-district launched a public-benefit child care program on July 6 to help ease the child care burden on dual-income families during the summer vacation. A variety of courses, such as those on science, safety, intangible cultural heritage, baking, and martial arts, are offered under the program.
On the first day, a teacher from Xingyang School guided the children to explore the water cycle through storytelling, and a firefighter taught them methods of fire prevention and emergency escape through examples, an animated video and a Q&A session.

The program also includes shadow puppet making, DIY fruit tea sessions and science experiments which are designed to spark curiosity and creativity, as well as morning reading, martial arts and team-building activities which are expected to help improve health.

With strict safety measures and well-trained volunteers in place, the program ensures a secure and enjoyable environment for all participants.
