Recently, the Weiting Sub-district Working Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Southeast University Suzhou Campus jointly organized a series of science education events for juveniles in the sub-district.

Among the events were a series of science classes which made complex science accessible through hands-on experiments. An ecological health class used fluorescent tracing to show how pollutants spread, while the food safety and first-aid sessions debunked common myths. An AI literacy class explained “AI hallucinations”, and a drug-abuse prevention session introduced self-protection measures.

After these classes, the participating youngsters visited the Southeast University Suzhou Campus to experience university life. They watched the video of the university’s history, listened to stories of scientists, and wrote postcards to their future selves.

Moreover, the youngsters participated in the science carnival held in the lobby of a teaching building, exploring the charm of different disciplines in 15 interactive challenge games.
