On the night of Aug 1, the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre in SIP erupted with thunderous cheers as the 6th “Sungent 2034 Cup” Primary School Students’ Football Games (U12) came to a dramatic close. Before a roaring crowd of over 30,000, the Asia Future Stars lifted the championship trophy, with Hangzhou Football Sports Management Center (U12) and Chinese Football Boy (Red) securing second and third place respectively.

Permanently based in SIP, the “2034 Cup” tournament has become one of China’s premier youth football events. This year’s event broke new ground in both scale and international reach. A total of 882 teams comprising 12,604 players attended 39 regional qualifiers, with 128 teams ultimately advancing to the finals. For the first time, three overseas teams from Laos, Thailand, and Uzbekistan joined the fray.

The finals saw 448 high-intensity 9-a-side matches played over just eight days. Video assistant referees (VARs) were introduced to ensure fair and precise officiating.
