A compelling photography exhibition, themed “Suzhou Family”, featuring the works by Bao Liwen, is underway at the SIP Cultural Centre, and will last till Aug 6. Sponsored by SIP Public Cultural Center and organized by the SIP Photographers Association, the exhibition has drawn numerous residents and photography enthusiasts.

Stepping into the exhibition hall, visitors are greeted by an array of human portraits shown amid soft light. From 2004 to 2026, Bao has traversed Suzhou’s ancient alleys, gardens, and countryside, capturing more than fifty local residents through his lenses. Together, these works manifest the city’s warmth, positivity, and vitality.

What truly moves the visitors, however, is not the technical perfection of the images, but the profound, heartfelt stories behind each face.
“I don’t just photograph people,” Bao explains, “I capture the spirit of Suzhou.”
